This may not be the first episode to pop to mind when people think “Spike-centric”. No, it’s not exactly centered around Spike but it’s an extremely important episode for his character development. James gives such a powerful performance. Buffy finally starts to see what she really means to Spike. He wasn’t aiming for a soul…but he fights through it.
Plus Crazy!Spike is such fun.

Hmm. This is kinda tough.
I’m gonna start out by saying that I thought pretty much every relationship on Buffy WAS needed for one reason or another. Just so you’re aware.
Spike and Harmony…kind of make me want to die in a hole. I really don’t like Harmony when she’s on Buffy AT ALL (Though I do like her on Angel). And I never really understood why Spike consented to be with her. Sure, maybe she was a really good lay or something but…Spike was never one to put up with people if he didn’t have to (See: him killing the Anointed One). It just didn’t make sense to me.

Got to see this episode (Once More, With Feeling) yesterday. So, of course, I couldn’t resist making something for it. The background is something I snagged from here, but the editing is all my doing. (I doubt anyone really cares, but in case someone does, I realize the lyrics I chose weren’t being sung in that moment, but I just loved that scene and those particular lyrics too much.)
